Looking Forward

A Very Happy New Years to you all!

I’ve never been a big fan of NYE, so I opted for a quieter one last night, complete with cinema and sleep. The fact that 2017 is now here, is a rather startling one. It’s true what the oldies say, each year comes round quicker and quicker.

I’m not a big believer in New Years resolutions, but I do believe that change can be good, and is sometimes very much needed. Particularly when it comes to my apparent need to eat my body weight in Terry’s Chocolate Orange each December.

I do have certain goals I want to achieve this forthcoming year, it will be a very influential and defining year for me as it marks (finally) the end of my education and a permanent move into the world of work. And also (fingers crossed) the big step of moving in with a partner.

In terms of my education, I really hope I will obtain a first class degree. I’ll be pleased with a 2:1, but a first would really be the icing on the cake and would make me feel a little less useless!

This year I also want to travel, a lot. Just last night Jack and I ordered our interrail passes ahead of a summer of fun and adventure! I would also like to finally go to a music festival. That’d be canny.

This one is the most cliche in the book, but I need to change my lifestyle. After spending my whole life feeling insecure and worried about how I look, I’m determined to quash it all. I want to feel better in myself, and possible eat more meals that consist of more than just meat and potatoes. If I could wear a pair of denim shorts this summer without wanting to cry floods of tears then that’s good with me.

Finally, I hope to put a lot more time and effort into my blog. I love to create and chat away with you through this medium. I absolutely adore fashion and would love to upload a lot more varied content on here, I just need to get myself a hell of a lot more organised!

But most importantly I hope for good health for all my family, friends (and myself too pls) this year! Life isn’t easy, but what Christmas time does remind us is that nothing is more powerful than love. Cheesy I know, but it’s true. Especially being a student who spends the majority of their time away, coming home reminds me that whatever happens you have people around you who love you and that’s all that matters.

Thanks for reading and apologies for the cheese but it’s needed!

Emily
