Baby I’m Yours

Hello guys!

The title of this post was chosen as it’s mine and Jack’s ‘song,’ (cos you’ve got to have a song haven’t you) and its a corker by the one and only Arctic Monkeys. Last week marked mine and Jack’s 2 year anniversary. A big step in any relationship, and certainly one worth celebrating!

From being in a (now) relatively long term relationship at a young age, I have definitely changed a lot, but for the better. I’ve grown as my own person, but this has happened simultaneously to growing closer to Jack.

He honestly is my world, and I don’t know what I’d do without him. (Cheese is needed)

To celebrate, we fancied a night somewhere but due to uni timetables and work, we couldn’t travel far. We decided why not just get an apartment in Manchester?! Jack lives at home in Tameside so it’s still something different, as we don’t get to stay in the city centre past 11pm when the trains stop running.

View from our Air BnB

We got an Air BnB, a gorgeous 1 bed apartment just 10mins walk from Piccadilly, and about 15mins to the heart of the Northern Quarter. Check in was from 1pm so we got to make the most of the luxuries of having our own space for a full day, and just enjoy each others company.

On the evening we decided to check out a few bars in the Northern Quarter, the first place we hit was ‘Jimmys’ on Newton Street. I’d seen/heard a lot about it on various instagrams and knew we had to go check it out. It was my ideal atmosphere, good music playing, but at a volume where you can have a chat, or alternatively a boogie if ya fancy.

The next place we ventured to was ‘hold fast’ bar. There was a guy playing original songs there guitar in hand, and the atmosphere was really buzzing. It was fab for me to see a bit of Manchester at night, and it’s definitely made me more excited at the prospect of moving there.

We then just retreated back to the apartment, Donner Kebab in one hand and cheesy chips in the other. Heaven

For the occasion I whipped out this ASOS denim jumpsuit, which is an absolute dream, and was in the sale for £21?! Bargain or what. My only issue was the leg of the tall measured at around 37/38″ so I had to hack a few inches off the end, as my size had sold out in the normal height version. But I suppose the now raw hem inadvertently adds interest and nails another current trend of distressed denim.

I paired it with my trusty mesh top, mine’s from Ark which has since closed down, but you can find one pretty much anywhere atm! I then topped the look of with my faux pony skin leopard print boots, simply because they’re sassy, and sassy is always the way forward.

Thanks so much for reading,

Em x
